Finding Your “Happily Ever After”

Everyone loves a good fairy tale. From the classics like Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty to modern heroines like Moana and Tiana, these rags-to-riches stories have stood the test of time. Why? Because they touch something deep within us. They invite us into a world where happy endings are guaranteed, good always triumphs over evil, and ordinary people are crowned as royalty.

We often find ourselves wondering: What would it be like to live that kind of life? Wouldn’t it be amazing if every experience ended in joy? If the “good guy” always won? If someone was always there to rescue us, protect us, and make everything right?

As daughters in the Kingdom of God, this is the life Jesus offers—not just in eternity, but here and now.

You might be thinking, Then why does my life feel so far from that? Why is everything so hard?

It’s a fair question, but even fairy tale princesses had their share of trials. Each one faced hardship, opposition, and heartache before stepping into the fullness of her calling. In fact, their hardships were their paths to step into their calling. The same is true for us.

God never promised a life without struggle. While we belong to His heavenly Kingdom, we still live in a world that is broken and ruled by an enemy who seeks to oppose God's plans. Just as every story has a villain, we too have an adversary—Satan—who works hard to discourage us and derail the life God intends for us. His goal is to steal your joy, wear you down, and convince you to give up on your “happily ever after.”

But God’s plan for you is far greater.

Hard seasons do not mean God has abandoned you. Even in the midst of pain or confusion, He is working behind the scenes, writing a story of redemption and hope. Life won’t always be easy, but it will always be worth it—because your Father is faithful. Despite the setbacks and flaws, God’s desire is for you to walk in purpose, joy, and freedom.

You are His beloved daughter. And He has declared:

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
 (Jeremiah 29:11, NLT)

Unlike imaginary fairy tale princes, your Savior is real—Jesus. He came to rescue you from the enemy’s schemes, to walk with you through every storm, and to love you with a forever kind of love. He promises, “I will never leave you or forsake you” (Deuteronomy 31:6). You were made to live with hope and holy expectation—to live like the royal daughter you are. In Christ, your story can have a happily ever after. And the best part? It’s not make-believe. It’s real. And it’s already unfolding.
